There is a lot to do at Foothill Village, as a part of our senior living community, and there's even more to do in our surrounding area. Foothill Village Angels Camp is just blocks away from restaurants, entertainment and shopping. We offer scheduled bus trips from our retirement community to surrounding shopping areas. We are also surrounded by an abundance of natural beauty and open spaces. If you get in the mood for a shopping spree we are near the community of Sonora which offers a large variety of stores to accommodate your wishes. Numerous natural wonders abound in our county for your enjoyment.

Calaveras County Jumping Frog Jubilee
Our county fair has a rich heritage dating back to the 1800’s and is held on the third week-end in May. This nationally recognized event is a week-end we all look forward to. We hold our own Frog Jump here at Foothill Village. Our staff catches bull frogs at local ponds and brings them to Foothill Village for a lively competition among residents, after which the frogs are returned to their natural habitat.
Many of our residents enjoy exhibiting their homemade creations at the county fair. Entries may include quits, artwork, photography, collections and fresh baked goods. All are displayed at the fair in hopes of receiving a winning ribbon! Perfect for an exciting day or evening of entertainment, the Calaveras County Fair offers our residents an adventure at a unique event. Offering concerts, fireworks, Professional Rodeo Exhibitions, animal exhibits, shopping and watching the pros jump their frogs, the fair is an event everyone looks forward to. |

Calaveras Big Trees State Park
Few natural wonders rival the majestic beauty of the giant sequoias of Calaveras Big Trees State Park. The park features two magnificent groves of these trees. Our residents may enjoy a picnic next to a refreshing river or a gentle stroll among these gracious giants We are fortunate to have this natural wonder in our county for all to enjoy. |

Golfing
Our county has a variety of public and private golf courses that provide a friendly uncrowded and relaxing experience- the way golf should be. The courses are beautiful, challenging and inexpensive by California standards. The landscapes and terrain range from rolling hills and wide open fairways dotted with mature oaks to narrow fairways carved through towering pine forests. |

Sonora Regional Medical Center
Just 30 minutes away from Foothill Village Sonora Regional Medical Center is a full service state of the art hospital including: 24 hr emergency services, cardiac catheterization lab and a cancer center with radiation and medical oncology. Imaging services include MRI,CT scans, and nuclear medicine. Rehabilitation services as well as transitional care and skilled nursing units are available at this new facility.
